When people think about chiropractic, they typically think of back or neck pain.  While this is the most common reason people seek chiropractic care, there are many other areas of health that may be positively affected.  The nervous system is the body’s master control center.  When we experience Subluxation (any bone or soft tissue which is out of alignment and producing nerve interference) our bodies fail to function optimally.  This is the main focus area of chiropractic care.

Spinal adjustment through manipulation is one form of therapy chiropractors use to treat restricted spinal mobility and subluxation.  During the adjustments, one may experience a popping or cracking sound.  This is normal.

The DNFT, Directional Non-Force Technique, is an alternative form of chiropractic practice, and is done solely by using both thumbs, without any pulling, twisting, popping or joint noise.  The DNFT thrust is gentle and non-traumatic, but/and very effective.

Chiropractic adjustment rarely causes discomfort, however, sometimes following treatment a person may experience mild soreness or aching similar to exercise.  This usually resolves within 12 – 48 hours.
