NSHAMA

N'Shama was created as a web-based wellness practitioner network.  Barb Melamed, the founder, is an Adlerian Psychotherapist, as well as a graduate of Southwest Institute for Healing Arts Certified Transformational Life Coach program and is certified in the Prepare/Enrich program for couples.  N'Shama is her dream come true.

Barb says:

The need for N'Shama grew out of shared 'struggles' that practitioners have.  We have limited dollars and we have a shared challenges, how do we stand out from the many practitioners offering their services?  In many modalities, there is a wide range of quality, ethics, and techniques with very little regulation.  How do we convey who we are, to a larger audience?  How could we reach our shared targeted audience, efficiently and effectively?  How do we raise the standards of quality and benefits to consumers?

N'Shama began as a shared name, shared brochure, and shared website to save money and reach a larger audience.  I saw the benefits of partnering with other practitioners since we travel in different circles.  I immediately saw the benefits from collaboration.  N'Shama recognizes the need, at times, to join with other practitioners, remain independent yet expand our services.

Little did I know that I had just conceived the N'Shama network. These challenges are quite common to this industry, even for   well-seasoned practitioners.  I saw a need for community, connection, networking, integrating east/west practices and group learning from experience in both skills and business know-how. Coming from a business background my entrepreneurial side began to buzz.

Thus I began to build this community.  How to make a living, and still support other practitioners in also making a living?  How to network, not only on behalf of myself, but also on behalf of other wellness practitioners?   How could we support and help brand ourselves for market differentiation yet allow all practitioners to remain independent?  How can we be an active part of the integrative movement for improved health and wellness?

These are our goals:

• To build a business to help the success of the wellness practitioner.
• To become the business structure behind the practice.
• To aid service providers to thrive, not just survive, allowing them to focus on what they know and love -  providing service.
• To actively promote the movement of integrative approaches to health and wellness by healing the root cause and supporting the body to do what it naturally wants to do - heal.
